On Wednesday (20th Nov) I drop me truck off to the shipping people. They will ship it over to KL. Me?? I have a few days on my hands. My oldest boy Rich is up in London – I haven’t seen him for a year. So, bugger it, I’m off to London for a week. As an added bonus my daughter Claire and her boyfriend, Rhys, will be up there.
I cannot wait!
When I get back I’ll head north into Thailand. I hope to do a yoga retreat (I’ve never done yoga), before I get to Bangkok where I will spend Christmas. I am SO happy as Carly and her family will fly up to spend Christmas with me.
After Christmas she and I will head down to Koh Samui. But…. then we head over to Koh Phangan. Have you heard of the New Moon Festival? Thousands of drug fuelled young people head there to dance non-stop on the beach for a couple of days.
I figure I am never too old, right?? To dance on a beach for 48 hours. Never too old.
One thing I will enjoy is that my boy Rory and a few of his smelly mates will be there. I can’t wait to bump into them. Rory doesn’t know his fat old Dad will be there – I can’t wait to see his face when I tell him. It’s not everyone’s Dad who rocks up to an event like this to confront their partying youngest son in the middle of a 48 hour rave.
Carly will head back to Sydney. I will probably drive into northern Thailand. I have a date of 7 May to aim at – until then I will drift through Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. That will be simply luxurious – no stress, lots of lovely people and 5 months to kick back.
I will be heading home to Sydney in late-Feb. I have a date with the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras – I am actually on a float doing the parade. How good!!!!
(And like I said who gives a flying fuck what people think).
I’ll head back up in early March. On 7 May I will join a tour into China – the only way I can get access to that country. I will hop off the tour in Nepal. I will drive up and over the Himalayas into India. From there I’ll drive through India and into Pakistan. I’ll pop back into China, to get to Mongolia. From there, Russia, the ‘Stans of central Asia (the Silk Road) and eventually to Turkiye.
