Losari Retreat – Margaret River Luxury

Home » Losari Retreat – Margaret River Luxury

The beautiful Margaret River.  One of the great wine locations… one of the most beautiful spots in Australia… one of the food capitals of the world.

And the location for some of the loveliest resorts locations one could hope to find.

I tried something.  I approached a couple of places.  If I showcased a location on my socials, can I come and stay?  I was very pleased when the Losari Retreat said yes.

Susie and Demi run the place.  What with my patchy travel plans, dirty truck and smashed sun roof (btw, it had to rain for the first time in 3 months, as I drove down), not to mention the bushman looks – well, they didn’t bat an eyelid.

They put me into a Lakeside Villa.  These are self-contained luxury units, and I’ll throw some photos down so you can see exactly what I enjoyed.  I only wished I’d had a co-pilot to share everything with…

Losari is only about 5km from the township of Margaret River.  There are loads of great restaurant options.  The resort can cater for a chef to prepare dinner, or a wine tasting, or a massage/spa treatment – all in your villa.

Losari may not be a place with 5 swimming pools, 6 restaurants and 7 bars.  But if you are looking for a self-contained villa that has absolutely every luxury one could hope for, so you can find your own comforts at a pace that suits you, then Losari is an absolute winner.  One observation…  the birds, the water, the peace.  The outside world just falls off you when you drive into this place.

I did enjoy a great Howard Park wine, sitting in the spa late one evening.  I reflected… I’d just driven from one side of Australia to the other.  From the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean.  I’d driven through some of the toughest terrains.  And I’d made it.  And my reward was unspoiled luxury at one the loveliest places I’d ever seen.  How good was life!

I knew now that driving to London wasn’t a dream.  It wasn’t something I’d need to strive for.  It was a fact.  I could do this.  Well, I will do this.

That was a great thing to feel, as I poured the last if the Howard Park into my glass and headed off to bed – for a 10 hour sleep.  The next part of my journey beckoned – Perth to Darwin.  I couldn’t wait!
